Financial Analysis is responsible for partnering across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards), and advising the line of business CFOs on how to increase profitability and efficiencies.
As a Senior Associate on the Planning and Analysis team, you will be responsible for one of our key financial measures such as expenses, headcount, and profitability modelling, where you will be expected to deliver value-added financial reporting and analysis, and assist with strategic direction and decision making. You will be expected to provide leadership across the FP&A teams, and interact regularly with the FP&A Managers, the line of business CFOs and peers across Finance & Business Management and the business.
Job Responsibilities
Address the increasing volume of routine and ad-hoc requests from GB/CIB Central—such as monthly HC/Expense walks, Investment/Productivity templates, HLP reconciliations, IC accruals, and Investment/Efficiency tracking—by providing dedicated analytical support and ensuring timely, accurate responses.Enhance the team’s ability to deliver detailed analysis and reporting for GCB senior management, including preparing presentation materials and improving tracking—such as investments and efficiencies—through automations as well as dashboard utilization.Work closely with regional P&A leads to coordinate headcount and expense reporting, providing insights that support informed business decisions across regions.Facilitate timely sharing and proactive reconciliation of monthly reports with other departments, such as Marketing and HR, to ensure data accuracy and cross-functional alignment.Strengthen internal controls by conducting regular monthly checks, documentation, and ensuring accuracy in financials.Support budget rounds for headcount and expenses by conducting trend analysis, collecting, and validating data, performing variance analysis, and preparing comprehensive system budget submissionsBring transparency on Allocations flowing to GCB in the booking model and help management decipher the cost of doing business
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
