Job Description:

The Head of Wealth Business Management / Administration is a critical executive role responsible for management of Administration, FINRA required FINOP responsibilities, Marketing Principal duties, Strategy, middle-office Sales/Service Support, and Data & Analytics responsibilities. This role will also lead first-line engagement and activities with Compliance and Legal with respect to Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) Administration, FINRA Branch Administration, Licensing/Registrations and maintenance requirements. This role will lead engagement with HR and Finance to ensure alignment across job families, entitlements, and financial & regulatory reporting.

Depth & Scope:

Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork, and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

Executes all administration required to comply with FINRA, SEC and State Insurance Regulators regarding Registered Representatives, FINRA Registered Branches, Licensed Bankers, Non-Registered-Fingerprinted Individuals, FINRA Offices of Supervisory Jurisdiction requirements, Store coverage hierarchies, OBAs, maintenance and annual review processes, etc. 

Executes FINRA Finance Principal and Marketing Principal responsibilities for TDPCW and TDWMSI.  Regulatory requirement that Principal associated directly with the BD/RIA be responsible and accountable for all financial reporting associated with and/or required by  FINRA or the SEC and the maintenance of the books and records supporting that reporting

Executes Registered Principal sign off required for all Marketing material that identifies TDPCW and/or TDWMSI

Leads Wealth Service & Sales Support team to drive operational excellence and Legendary experience for Clients and Advisors.  This includes oversight of several large groups supporting HNW & Institutional Advisors, MA Advisors and Trust Advisors with activities such as Client Onboarding, Money Movement, Account Maintenance & Servicing

Leads Administration team for Wealth, with responsibility for Advisor compensation management and execution, Colleague onboarding and offboarding processes and execution, book transfers and management, maintenance of  job families, hierarchies, entitlements, and year-end processes in collaboration with HRBP

Leads Data & Analytics teams to manage processes for leveraging business and customer data, ensure strong data governance and data stewardship, and deliver insights and reports to inform strategic decisions

Leads Strategy and Business Management to short, medium, and long-term strategies to scale the business and meet financial targets

Stays abreast to industry developments and news

Ensures that business / department operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical control of assets) and that applicable escalation processes are followed

Provides effective presentations and reporting to the various US TD Boards of Directors

Strong ability to attract, inspires and brings out the best in team members through a demonstrated passion for the business and willingness to recognize and reward the contributions of others

As a senior executive team member, and across all areas of accountability, optimizes TDBGs resources by leveraging TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and scale

As a senior leader of the organization, oversees strategies to attract, motivate and retain a highly qualified human resource base to achieve business objectives and to fully engage our people within areas of accountability

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; an MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is preferred

15+ years of experience with a proven track record in a high-level management role within wealth management or private banking

A deep understanding of financial products and markets, investment strategies, and banking services across segments

Must be able to delegate activities and responsibilities, projects and tasks to ensure proper resourcing

Must possess ability to think strategically as well as tactically

Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for top-tier client interaction and relationship management

Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management in the finance industry

Strong technology acumen, comfortable with IT systems that support wealth management operations

S7, S24, S27, Life & Health with detailed understanding of Administration and FINOP requirements under pertinent regimes

Prior engagement with regulators (e.g., FINRA, SEC, OCC)

Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills (issue identification, problem structuring, process redesign, analysis, development of actional recommendations) and conceptual thinking abilities

Strong understanding of and experience in implementing large scale and complex programs/projects; proven ability to work effectively with teams and individuals

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Advanced facilitation and influence management skills

Proven ability to develop good business relationships with internal and external partners

Able to work in an unstructured and fast paced environment

This position is with a FINRA member, broker and/or dealer and is subject to the requirements of FINRA and Securities Laws.  May (or may not) be a registered position under FINRA.

Must be eligible for employment under standards established by FINRA.  Subject to the investigation and verification requirements of FINRA Rule 3110(e), including:  the Firm's obligation to investigate the good character, business reputation, qualifications and experience of an applicant for registration before applying to register the applicant with FINRA and filing the applicant's Form U4 with the CRD, and before representing on the applicant's Form U4 that it has conducted this investigation and verified the accuracy and completeness of the information contained in the applicant's Form U4; and the Firm's obligation to verify the accuracy and completeness of the information contained on the applicant’s Form U4, no later than 30 calendar days after the Form U4 is filed with FINRA.

Satisfactory results on a criminal background check, credit report check, civil litigation search, and regulatory agency or self-regulatory organization enforcement action search, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority or self-regulatory organization, are required by federal law for this position.
