We are seeking a talented individual to join our Victor Insurance team at Marsh as the Head of Underwriting Operations working in our Melbourne office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Head of Underwriting Operations
We will count on you to:
Lead and manage the underwriting department, including Underwriting Managers, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are consistently met.
Drive technical and process development by collaborating with stakeholders to maintain underwriting standards and service quality.
Oversee insurer audits, compliance, and risk management while fostering strong relationships with insurers and distribution channels.
Lead strategic projects including the Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation and support business transformation initiatives.
Develop talent within the team, support succession planning, and promote Victor’s culture and brand values.
What you need to have:
Extensive experience in underwriting operations within the intermediary insurance market, including managing multi-functional teams and delivering departmental KPIs.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage managers and motivate teams.
Deep understanding of regulatory and trading requirements, including delegated binding agreements and MGA operational models.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and implement optimal workflows.
