The Position


The Head of Strategy and Corporate Development Operations is a key leadership role within the Corporate Development & Strategy team, responsible for both shaping Organon’s corporate strategy and driving operational excellence in support of corporate development initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development & Chief Strategy Officer, this role focuses on facilitating the development of the company’s strategic plan, leading/supporting key strategic initiatives, aligning/prioritizing internal resources and investment decisions, and driving operational excellence across the Corporate Development function. An initial team of two colleagues will report to this role.

Key Strategy Responsibilities

Strategic Planning – facilitating the development of and refining our multi-year strategic plan to achieve our long-term vision, and translating it into clear choices, priorities, actionable initiatives, and measurable outcomes.

Portfolio and Capital Allocation Processes – continuous collaboration with internal stakeholders to guide where we invest our resources to maximize long-term value creation in a way that is agile and responsive to changes in the environment.

Tracking Progress – establishing, tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress of our strategic initiatives and enable efficient decision-making.

Key Operations Responsibilities

Developing presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.

Planning Corporate Development & Strategy town halls and leadership meetings.

Providing regular updates on activities for senior leadership.

Leading project prioritization and resourcing.

Tracking and developing budgets.

Managing engagement with external stakeholders; overseeing conference planning.

Managing data sources; maintaining databases that document various activities and projects.

Foundational operational support across all Corporate Development activities.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

Advanced degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Strategy, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

Minimum of 12 years' experience in strategic and operational leadership roles within corporate strategy or business development in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.

Demonstrated expertise in corporate strategic planning, capital allocation frameworks, asset evaluation, and operational management.

Previous experience leading strategy and operations within a global organization.

Proven ability to integrate corporate strategy with operational processes, driving business development success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Familiarity with due diligence, valuation methodologies, and partnership frameworks.

Strong problem-solving skills, financial acumen and data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Comprehensive knowledge of global pharmaceutical markets, regulatory environments, and industry trends, and leveraging these insights to guide strategic initiatives.

$273,800.00 - $465,400.00
