We are seeking a strategic and inspiring Head of Rare & Epilepsy for East Central Europe (ECE) Cluster (covering Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary) to lead our cross-functional team and shape the future of patient care in the region.
The role is based in Warsaw, Poland or Prague, Czech Republic.
About the role
As the Head of Rare & Epilepsy ECE cluster, you will lead the rare and epilepsy strategy and team, taking responsibility for the overall performance of UCB products and services within the ECE cluster. You’ll be accountable for the Epilepsy and Rare Disease P&L, developing and executing integrated strategic plans, and ensuring the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and quality.
Your leadership will foster a culture of patient centricity, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration, maximizing value for patients and the business.
Who you’ll work with
You will lead and inspire a diverse team of marketers, sales managers, coordinators, and Key Account Managers. Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with local, European, and global teams, as well as external partners such as key opinion leaders, payers, patient networks, and other stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem.
What will you do
Lead the cross-functional Epilepsy and Rare Disease Leadership Team, driving strategy and performance across the cluster.Deliver financial targets, drive growth and profitability, and ensure full accountability for team and product P&L.Develop and execute tailored strategies aligned with global and European priorities, maximizing patient value and brand objectives.Foster innovation through digitalization and agile resource deployment.Build and maintain strong networks with internal and external stakeholders.Ensure your team operates to the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and quality, in line with UCB’s code of conduct.Support strategic discussions and gather market insights from KOLs, payers, and patient organizations.Champion a “doing more with less” mindset and a cross-functional, agile team culture.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph.D., Medical Degree, or equivalent in a relevant field.Fluent in English, with Polish or Czech at a highly proficient levelProven cross-functional leadership and strong business and tactical planning skills.10+ years of healthcare-related sales, marketing, market access, and/or medical experience.5+ years’ experience leading multidisciplinary and/or matrixed teams (Business Unit Head or similar preferred).In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems and rare disease/epilepsy therapeutic areas.Experience in general management and launching orphan drugs in rare diseases (preferred).Senior-level networking and stakeholder management skills.Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.
