In this role, you will:

Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leadsFocus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic prioritiesBuild support for strategies with business and technology leadersGuide development of actionable roadmaps and plansIdentify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practicesProvide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providersIdentify financial management and strategic resourcingSet risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiativesDevelop strategies for hiring engineering talentLead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovationCollaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managersLead team to achieve objectivesInterface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forumsManage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic LeadershipDevelop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategyReport directly to the Head of WIMT I&P, with dotted line alignment to Global Head of WIMT Platform Management in transforming traditional IT Service Operations culture to a modern SRE driven Agile culture.Provide leadership, manage and develop constituent platform management and application support teams with single point accountability towards platform management and supporting WIMT engineering teams, based on state-of-the-art engineering practices and principles fostering growthBuild and manage a cross functional team responsible for providing follow the sun support in partnership with your US- based peers for one of the largest Wealth and Investment Management organizations in the worldProvide thought leadership, steer transformation initiatives in line with Wells Fargo Technology (WFT) and WIMT strategic roadmap, partner with WIMT Head of Platform Management in launching WIMT Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Practice, working with CIOs and Engineering Leads across WIMT I&P to build SRE teams, instrumented for full-stack observability, continuous testing, introduce continuous improvement, integrate into IT Service Operations, and share support responsibilities for critical customer journeys, business flows, and applications to ensure WIMT products and services are always onExperience in Measuring and reporting on application impact / availability issues via monitoring and putting in place a robust incident resolution process.Own 24/7 global accountability of platform availability, including meeting enterprise expectations of reliability, security and business continuity, and commitments towards risk management and regulatory commitmentsWork closely with WIMT leaders and Application Development teams to ensure secure support - focusing on Non-Functional Requirements, Chaos Engineering and other modern techniques to ensure all applications and solutions are production-ready and supportableContinuously monitor for automation and improvement to eliminate manual effort, gather requirements, and onboard customer journeys to new enterprise observability, CI/CD and continuous testing platformsMaintain and Develop SLA’, SLO’ and playbooks for the organizationLaunch the error budget, blameless postmortems, and drive remediation through Agile methodology within WIMT I&PStrong experience and knowledge with traceability and observability with expert level ITIL practices experience across L1 and L2 in an transformative Agile environment.Provide advisory support and collaborate with peers within WIMT towards achieving engineering excellence, including but not limited to agile transformation, tech stack modernization, change and deployment game plan development and execution of strategic long-term and tactical immediate safety and soundness initiatives, platform stability, reliability, vulnerability remediation, production environment availability and high application health scoresSupport Head of WIMT I&P in driving strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications:

8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education4+ years of management or leadership experience8+ years of software engineering experience, 8+ years of leadership, management and strategic planning experience in technology, agile practices, systems architecture design5+ years’ experience with modern software engineering technologies and tool sets, 3+ years managing a 100+ FTE in an engineering organizationHas worked in an organization in transition to the Cloud with experience of lifting the Platform Management team to support the application stack in the cloud.Demonstrated experience in Application Support and/or Technology Operations, managing technology, development and/or engineering functions of similar size/ scale and scope

Desired Qualifications:

Working knowledge of tools and platforms like Prometheus, NetCool, Grafana, Dynatrace. SplunkA practitioner of SRE, including error budget and pragmatic SLO definition.Strong commitment to diversity and inclusionExemplary people skills

Job Expectations:

Provide vision and set direction for all of technology development and infrastructure or service component for a defined business unit.Provide technology solutions for the large business unit, including application portfolio standardization, rationalization & modernization.Recommend innovations which anticipate the future directions of both business and information technology.Develop and monitor long range information technology plans and policies consistent with the strategic objectives and plans of the business unit. Manage and allocate appropriate people and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and align with strategic objectives.Identify capacity planning, efficiency, availability, business enablement and time to market.Provide comprehensive consultation to more experienced management regarding business requirements.Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managersLead team to achieve objectives.Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums.Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership.Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategyManage a business unit / large account independently, looking after budgets, revenues, expenses, staffing, people development, infrastructure etc. inline with the financial goals Establish and adhere to best practices of financial management.Identify & manage operational risk; ensure that risk is managed in line with the risk management standards and frameworks established within the organization. Provide inputs towards risk all facets of risk management and risk framework enhancements.
