Head of Community Development Banking Group – Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Bank  (Chicago, IL; Los Angeles CA; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Washington DC )

The Commercial Real Estate Group is made up of four distinct businesses including Commercial Term Lending (CTL), Community Development Banking (CDB), Agency & Institutional Capital (AIC) and Real Estate Banking (REB). 

As the Head of Community Development Banking, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of affordable housing banking products- including LHTC construction debt, historic and new market tax credit offerings, CDFI lending, and workforce housing debt solutions- to clients across the country.  You will be a senior voice in the market, leading JPMorgan’s approach and impact in the affordable housing space.  This will come with the expectation that you are a well-respected voice in the industry, helping to influence smart policy and maintaining strong client relationships across a national business.   

Job responsibilities:

Lead a team of bankers, driving a culture focused on high employee engagement and retentionDevelop and implement business strategy, through effective relationship management across a wide network of partnersLead client coverage, with a focus on delighting clients through JPM products and service.  Shape where and how the CDB local coverage and product teams drive impact and results. Identify opportunities for new products, enhancements to meet industry-specific needsInfluence and distribute key industry information including industry financial comparisons, market leaders, competitor insight, regulatory issues and impactsActively participate, syndicate, innovate and support process, policy and technology initiatives designed to mitigate risk; improve speed, quality and overall client satisfaction

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

15+ years affordable housing, community development and management experienceBachelor's Degree or equivalentSkills should include experience in structuring, underwriting, closing, and administering commercial real estate construction loans for affordable multifamily housing, deep industry relationships with borrowers and real estate centers of influenceDemonstrated experience leading cross functional teams within a business development environmentExtensive knowledge of mortgage products, financial services, lending, and real estate compliance in addition to sales management techniquesDivergent managerial skills including delegation, coaching and demonstrated leadership abilities among peers, team members and senior executives

The final officer title and job grade is at the discretion of the firm and will be discussed at the time of offer.  It may be different than what is listed on the requisition based on candidate experience level.
