Required Education:

4 Year Degree Reporting to the Director of Athletics, Women's Volleyball Head Coach will have primary responsibility for leadership of all activities related to the academic, athletic, social and spiritual success of Lipscomb University’s women’s Volleyball program. In building a successful program, Head Coach is expected to attract, equip, train and help student athletes graduate successfully.

Given that women's volleyball at the NCAA DI level is very competitive (8 NCAA appearances since 2007, 13 ASUN Finals appearances) and requires student athletes who not only have the ability and desire to succeed, but who also will thrive in Lipscomb’s academic and campus environment, talent/personnel evaluation and recruiting ability are critical in this position. Demonstrated ability as a recruiter, especially at a high level, is preferred.

In addition to the broad range of expectations above, the following are some of the other responsibilities and expectations of the head coach:

Coaching - primary responsibility for all aspects of training, practice, match preparation, scouting, in-game management and other duties commonly associated with being a head coach.  Recruiting - Leading the recruitment of qualified student-athletes who are a fit for Lipscomb University through correspondence with student athletes identified as prospects, attendance at selected events for evaluation of prospects, establishing positive relationships with coaches and others in women's volleyball community in order to assist in evaluations, use of rankings, video and other means of determining volleyball ability, organizing and conducting recruiting visits, as needed. All of this will be done in strict compliance with NCAA, ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations. Operational duties - To include scheduling (in conjunction with the AD) and travel arrangements for practices, games and other women's volleyball related events; ordering of equipment and other items as needed for women's volleyball; other operational or managerial responsibilities as needed. All of this will be done with careful attention paid operational processes in place, budgetary requirements and in strict compliance with NCAA, ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations. Ability to work well in a team environment and cooperate with numerous individuals and groups across a collegiate athletics department and campus.  Coordination of schedules, activities and potentially with camps required on occasion with other programs with assistance from Athletics staff.  Expected involvement in University Athletics initiatives including collaboration with other areas on campus, community outreach and development and fundraising efforts.   Work and communicate clearly and professionally with recruits, parents, other administrators, staff members, coaches, trainers, areas of campus, etc. Summer Volleyball Camps - Leadership and oversight of summer individual and team volleyball camps
