Hatchery Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Hatchery Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** Responsible for the maintenance, repair, construction, and modification of industrial machinery, including electrical components, throughout the hatchery. Assists the supervisor in overseeing hatchery maintenance. **Responsibilities** + Monitor hatchery production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment and intervene for repairs as necessary. + Utilize all manner of hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. + Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed. + Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required. + Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance lead, supervisor, or training department. + Make suggestions for corrective measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects. + Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required. + Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback to supervisor about cost reduction, quality improvement, and yield control. + Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience. + Experience utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties. + Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints. + Basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components. + Knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and calculating percentages. + Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. + Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit. + Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all plant employees, as well as third-party vendors and contractors. + Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed. + Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision. + Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. + Ability to pass required physical including demonstrating the ability to lift the required weight for each position. + Ability to stand and/or walk for the entire 8-hour shift. + Must wear correct job-specific PPE as designated by company policy. + Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits. + Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Associate's degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Welding, or similar fields preferred. + Previous experience working with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive) or robotics is preferred. + Welding experience preferred. + Knowledge of water/boiler systems is preferred. + HVAC and Boiler experience is a plus. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy direct placement with great benefits, including a Costco membership and chicken sales. Responsibilities include cleaning and other duties aside from maintenance. The schedule operates on a 2 on, 2 off, 3 on rotation. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Fremont, NE. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
