projects that design the hardware powering the internet. You will learn
foundational knowledge of computers and networking and elevate it by
contributing to one or more of the following product categories: cloud, social,
mobile/wireless, video, VoIP, collaboration, web, routing, switching, IPv6, data
center, HPC, Telepresence, and many more. This opportunity will expose you to

Your Impact
As a Hardware Test Engineer Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in
board and system bring-up, along with problem analysis and troubleshooting to
identify and resolve hardware issues. You will run test scripts and diagnostics on
printed circuit boards (PCBs), update systems with new hardware and firmware,
and develop an understanding of hardware description languages (HDL) and
schematic design processes. Your role will involve translating hardware
schematic designs into layout designs and executing test cases using scripts,
sharing test logs, and performing detailed analysis. Additionally, you will engage
in various levels of hardware automation, validation, and testing, contributing to
the quality and reliability of Cisco’s hardware products. This learning journey will
build your technical skills in hardware testing and automation, preparing you for
impactful contributions in hardware engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications
• Board & system bring-up, problem analysis / troubleshooting.
• Running test scripts & diagnostics on PCBs.
• Updating systems with new hardware and firmware
• Concepts of HDL or other tools to draw schematic design and its process
• Translating Hardware Schematics design into layout design
• Execution of test cases using scripts and sharing the test logs, performing
analysis on the same
• Performing different levels of Hardware Automation, Validation
and Test where applicable
Preferred Qualifications
• You should have Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering,
Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent academic
certification.
• Basic Knowledge of MS office tools
• Good communication skills, passion & desire to learn, “Can do” attitude,
• proactive engagement, solutions seeking & a team player.
• Must have graduated in 2025 obtained a degree certificate or Provisional
Degree Certificate (PDC)
