Job Title: Hardware Engineering Technician
Job Description
The Hardware Engineering Technician will be an integral part of an engineering team focused on developing power management hardware and battery backup systems across various industries. This role entails performing electrical and mechanical tests on engineering prototypes and preproduction units. The technician will support the development of electrical architecture and design, integration and debugging of new electrical hardware and firmware, and validation of the design in a structured engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Assemble prototypes of battery packs, Battery Management Systems (BMSs), and Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) systems.Create and assemble test fixtures.Modify circuits as directed by engineers.Provide feedback during the prototype assembly process, highlighting manufacturability issues early in the design process.Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of prototype parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions and record results.Test and monitor the performance of electrical circuits as designed by engineers.Assist with electrical schematic capture and Bill of Materials (BOM) maintenance.Perform reliability tests on various key system components.Participate in failure root cause analysis and support the implementation of corrective actions.Conduct hardware and software design verification and validation testing.Essential Skills
Proven experience in prototype assembly, testing, and documentation.Strong aptitude in the use of hand tools for mechanical assembly, electrical soldering, and wiring.Proficiency with Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi Meters (DMMs), Power Analyzers, and Signal Generators.Experience in reading electrical schematics and mechanical piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).Skilled in using data acquisition systems (DAQs) and working with thermal chambers.Experience in programming and debugging systems with microcontrollers.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office 365 tools.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, Electronics, or a similar field with 8+ years of experience.Experience working in an engineering test lab and product development environment.Experience building fixtures for test setups.Some experience with Altium or similar schematic capture programs is preferred.Work Environment
The position is onsite at the headquarters located in Tualatin, OR. Candidates must be comfortable working with voltages up to 600V DC and 480V AC.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.32 - $42.32/hr.
