Job Title: Hardware Engineer
Job Description
As a Hardware Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and validating electronic hardware for high-performance LED lighting systems. This role offers the opportunity to shape and improve processes while working in a supportive, team environment. You will have meaningful ownership of product execution and will be exposed to multiple regulated and industrial market segments.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and validate electronic hardware for high-performance LED lighting systems, focusing on power electronics and embedded controllers.Execute hardware development tasks from concept through production, including requirements definition, schematic capture, PCB design, and component selection.Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles through direct engagement with manufacturing and test activities.Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring cost reduction and obsolescence mitigation.Collaborate with systems architects and firmware engineers to define hardware/firmware interfaces and resolve system-level issues.Ensure electronic assemblies meet environmental, thermal, and cost objectives in collaboration with mechanical engineering.Develop and support manufacturing and validation infrastructure, including test strategies and fixtures.Lead compliance and regulatory efforts, including UL and FCC certifications.Create and maintain technical documentation, covering requirements, specifications, and test reports.Stay informed on emerging technologies relevant to power electronics, embedded controllers, and compliance standards.Contribute ideas to improve product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.Essential Skills
10+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design and product development.At least 7 years of experience with power electronics and embedded hardware design.Proficiency in mixed-signal design, including MCU's and analog signals.Strong skills in Altium Designer and Altium 365.7+ years of experience managing BOMs and compliance testing, including UL certification.Proven experience applying DFM/DFT principles in production environments.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using Python for test automation and data analysis.Experience with LabVIEW for validation or manufacturing test development.Familiarity with European compliance requirements and custom OEM product development.Adaptable and self-driven, with the ability to function in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.Effective communicator and team player, detail-oriented with a passion for high-quality solutions.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $185000.00/hr.
