Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for an Engineer Hardware – Site Engineer (25-426) to join our team of talented, diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, monitor the battle collectively, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges during all flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate current and future missile defense system capabilities.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include analyzing hardware characteristics and comparing them with design requirementsPreparing and reviewing rack-level and site drawings and plansReviewing the content and details of technical productsServing as a technical interface with Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) counterparts at the working levelWill work as part of a minor, focused team that interfaces with peer-level team members and NT management to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and within available resourcesEarly-to-Mid-Career level hardware/systems engineering experienceExcellent written and oral communication skills required, with the ability to communicate effectively and to clearly present technical approaches and findingsAble to implement engineering plans for a projectWill possess knowledge of systems and hardware engineering concepts, principles, and techniquesFamiliarity with drafting practices and DoD Drawing requirementsFamiliar with standard rack-mounted computing equipment (servers and workstations) and networking equipment, as well as cable selection for interconnection and power delivery to selected computing equipmentShould have experience conducting in-person site surveys and preparing for hardware installationsShould be able to demonstrate the ability to resolve tasks with limited guidance

Basic Qualifications:

 

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

 

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree

Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start

Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs

Recent experience and skills using MS Visio to design rack layouts and prepare and review diagrams and technical drawings

Required skill areas include

Familiarity with analyzing hardware requirements and supporting related analysis (heat, weight, power)

Ability to demonstrate understanding of networking concepts, including routers, switches, and firewalls

Must have experience with Juniper hardware

Preferred Qualifications:

·Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
