Examples of Duties + Teach and demonstrate gymnastics skills appropriate to participant's age and ability levels. + Lead classes, assist with setup/takedown of equipment, and help maintain a safe environment. + Provide positive encouragement, instruction and feedback to participants. + Monitor participants while performing on various apparatuses to ensure safety and proper technique. + Support program staff with class management, participant registration and communication with parents/guardians. + Report accidents, injuries or equipment concerns to the Recreation Supervisor. + Maintain a professional an positive relationship between the program and the community. Typical Qualifications Education, Certification and Experience: + Previous experience in gymnastics as a coach, aide or participant is preferred. + Experience working with children in a recreational or instructional setting is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Knowledge of gymnastics fundamentals, safety practices, and age-appropriate skill development. + Ability to teach, motivate and supervise children in a group setting. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents and coworkers. + Ability to enforce rules and maintain discipline in a positive manner.
