**Job Title: Ground Support Equipment Mechanic** **Job Description** The Mechanic is responsible for repairing and servicing tow tractors, baggage carts, buses, trucks, and service vans. This role involves maintaining heavy equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery. The mechanic will inspect ground support vehicles and equipment to determine necessary repairs, troubleshoot issues, and schedule periodic maintenance. Additionally, the mechanic will ensure the repair shop is clean and safe, track inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance, and maintain a repair log for vehicles and equipment. **Pay/Shift** + $28.50-$33.50/hr based on experience + 2nd shift: Tuesday to Saturday OR Sunday to Thursday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM + 3rd shift: Tuesday to Saturday OR Sunday to Thursday 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM + Weekend shift: Thurs to Mon OR Fri-Tues, "Day Shift" Can work 6am-2:30pm, 7am-3:30pm,8am-4:30pm **Responsibilities** + Repair and service tow tractors, baggage carts, buses, trucks, and service vans. + Maintain heavy equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery. + Inspect ground support vehicles and equipment to determine if repairs are needed. + Troubleshoot issues or problems with vehicles and machinery to make necessary repairs. + Schedule periodic maintenance for ground support vehicles. + Ensure a clean and safe repair shop environment. + Track inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance. + Maintain a repair log for vehicles and equipment. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of automotive maintenance experience with troubleshooting and repair on hydraulics and engines. + Proficiency in automotive maintenance, engine repair, and automotive repair. + Ability to use hand tools and power tools for repairs. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment. + Exceptional mechanical repair skills. + Ability to follow instructions. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Previous related experience preferred. + On-the-job training provided. + Prolonged periods working on vehicles. + Must be physically able to access vehicles either by kneeling or lying on back. + Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. **Why Work Here?** This position offers room for growth with internal promotion opportunities to lead and foreman roles. The shop is very busy with a heavy workload, requiring self-motivation. Openings are available on the 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift with various schedules, including Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday. Shift times range from 6:00 am to 6:30 am across different shifts. Must work either Saturday or Sunday and be willing to work holidays. **Job Type & Location** This is a 4 month Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, Colorado at the Denver International Airport. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $35.00/hr.
