Growth Business Leader, Infrastructure

Your Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the North America Infrastructure Business leadership team serving as the Growth business leader (BL Grow). The business leader for the GROW pillar inspires our people and upholds the highest ambitions for our business. This position is a key part of Infrastructure’s Senior Leadership team and oversees market expansion for the Infrastructure BOU. This position reports to the Business Operating Unit Leader (BOUL) and is responsible for leadership that facilitates growth across all Infrastructure markets, regions and disciplines through organic and acquisitive strategies, as well as all the core responsibilities as a Business Leader for Strategic Planning, market development, project execution, financial management, talent retention and recruitment. Key Responsibilities Market Expansion - Lead and manage Infrastructures’ market expansion across all markets, geographies, disciplines, and services aimed at strengthening our package of services. - Understand market drivers and changes and develop innovative solutions to address these changes to increase Stantec’s profitability and market share. - Develop high performing networks of internal and external relationships to expand strategic teaming. - Bolster cross- geography and cross- BOU line communication and outcomes with regards to growth initiatives and account management practices. - Collaborate with the Office of the Chief Growth and Innovation Officer (CGIO) to align corporate programs and Infrastructures’ needs and opportunities. - Strategic Growth Initiatives (SGI): identify the most significant growth opportunities for Infrastructure and participate in rolling out the corporate strategic growth initiatives. Advance Infrastructures’ position within each key area of growth. - Corporate Campaigns: Support the growth of new business opportunities by leveraging corporate campaign funding to invest in market opportunities that align with our growth initiatives and global mega trends. Take a lead role in the campaigns, supporting strategy development and driving accountability to grow new revenue. - Top 20 Program: Lead the identification and support of the top 20 strategic pursuits. Drive Top 20 activities and progress, manage budget, contribute to pursuit strategy, and align execution with BOU strategic programs. - Key Accounts & Account Management Program: Drive results and grow our key client accounts. Review and assess the program, identifying cross-BOU opportunities, identifying new to Stantec clients for entry into AM program (K0) and elevating K3/K4 accounts to K2/K1. - Strategic/Bundled Hires: Identify strategic hire/bundled needs to drive key growth areas. Participate in market assessment, recruitment and offer negotiations. Partner with local leadership to support funding. - Group Hires: Develop strategic priorities for potential group hires that will contribute most significantly to the advancement of the Infrastructure BOU, revenue, diversification of services and/or geography. Lead the identification, market assessment, and purchase negotiations of potential group hire targets. Lead, and identify key partners, to execute the due diligence and integration. - Acquisitions: Develop strategic priorities for potential acquisitions that will contribute most significantly to the advancement of the Infrastructure BOU revenue, diversification of services and/or geography. Liaison with the Corporate Development team in courting and securing potential acquisition targets. Serve as the primary point of contact for the BOU through due diligence and integration. Leadership - Lead the growth pillar’s vision and goals and align with the BOU and BC goals. - Participate on the Infrastructure Senior Leadership Team and actively collaborate with other business leaders to transform our market presence and package of services. - Partner with the Health Safety Security Environment (HSSE) team to ensure all company safety procedures, legal requirements and all location specific health and safety regulations are met. - Achieve the Infrastructure HSSE KPIs for Senior Leadership. - Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner, and a source of counsel and advice for the business. - Contribute as a senior leader enhancing our business through core responsibilities for strategic planning, market development, project execution, financial management, and talent retention and recruitment. - Speak at selected conferences, publish thought-leadership pieces and maintain active memberships in associations (such as board posts and committee memberships). Client & Business Development - Achieve minimum client- and proposal-specific marketing and business development (M&BD) sales goals, including internal cross-selling initiatives target as mutually agreed to. - Conduct a minimum of 4 client feedback surveys per year. - Foster strong connections with other BOU leaders and colleagues, looking for opportunities to collaborate, particularly in support of our strategic growth initiatives. - In collaboration with leadership, manage the Infrastructure win rate and Marketing/Business Development (MBD) expenditures for the BOU ensuring appropriate return on investment. - Provide capture leadership on major opportunities to include go/no go leadership, sales budget planning, strategy and win theme development, risk reviews, and proposal support. Project Focus - Achieve minimum utilization target as mutually agreed to. - Pursue, win, and execute work that positively transforms our communities and inspires and challenges us as designers. - Remain aware of local and global market conditions impacting our ability to win and deliver projects. Financial Management - Partner with the BOUL and BL colleagues to drive the business to achieve net revenue, gross margin, SG&A, and operating income targets. - Contribute to the business’ annual business plan and budget, outlining the vision, focus, and priorities for implementation and setting specific goals for business performance. Enhance our Business - Position the Stantec Infrastructure business as a preferred employer in the markets we work in for the purposes of staff recruitment and retention. - Build relationships with other Stantec Business Lines to foster cross-pollination of work and to capitalize on new business opportunities. - Contribute to Stantec’s Safer Together culture, prioritizing the physical and mental health and safety of our employees. Your Capabilities - Exceptional understanding of the North American marketplace, service offerings, and competitors in the A/E industry. - Proven success in securing new service offerings and growing revenue and market share. - Ability to solicit, compel, and negotiate with prospective firms and strategic hires to join Stantec. - Strong strategy, change management, and communication skills to lead and support integrations for the BOU. - Ability to lead, inspire and assemble teams with a strong entrepreneurial and innovative approach. - Ability to translate visionary guidance into strategic planning and tactical execution. - Proven leadership on significant projects and pursuits. - The strengths, experience, and drive to effectively lead, challenge, and inspire the leadership group and team members to work together collaboratively as a multidisciplinary, global team. - Highly organized and self-motivated, and resilient when under stress. - Success driven, enthusiastic, collaborative, and possess the highest degree of integrity. - Ability to travel across North America and globally as necessary. Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree and professional registration/certification in your field of practice, as applicable, with a minimum of twenty years of relevant work experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering practice.
