**Job Description**
The Group Leader position on our Survey team is responsible for leading, growing, and supporting a high-performing survey team while delivering quality surveying services to our internal and external clients. This role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and business management, ensuring the group operates efficiently, develops talent, and contributes to Olsson’s long-term strategic goals.
The Group Leader partners closely with discipline leaders, project managers, and business development teams to align resources, strengthen client relationships, and drive sustainable growth within the Survey practice.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead, mentor, and develop the Survey team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and growth-oriented culture
+ Provide technical leadership and quality oversight for survey services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency
+ Manage group staffing, workload, and utilization to support project delivery and financial performance
+ Partner with project managers to support budgets, schedules, and risk management on survey projects
+ Support business development efforts through client relationship management, proposals, and service growth
+ Drive continuous improvement in processes, technology, and professional development within the Survey group

**You bring to the team:**
+ Minimum of an Associates degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
+ Licensed Professional Surveyor (PS) in Kansas.
+ 8+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, including leadership or supervisory experience.
+ Strong technical knowledge of survey methods, standards, and applicable regulations.
+ Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and support project and financial performance.
+ Effective communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
