Group Leader

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide support and assistance to the Distribution Center Supervisor by coordinating the workflow within an assigned department and ensuring that merchandise is processed and shipped in a safe, timely, accurate, and cost efficient manner. A Group Leader is required to assist Operations Clerks, Material Handlers and/or Merchandise Processors and must be able to perform the physical requirements of these positions as well as the physical requirements listed below. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Monitor production activities and, in conjunction with supervisor and/or manager, determine operational needsReporting of production information related to the departmentAssign associates to specific job functions according to production needsProvide training & cross-training, in coordination with the Certified Training Lead (CTL), for new and existing employees Communicate information to department associates in an appropriate manner in the absence of the DC SupervisorMaintain an awareness of associates’ production, quality, safety, and behavior to provide feedback to the department SupervisorResolve minor processing problems; notify and work with the Supervisor as neededMust be able to work in all departments performing various functions of the Group Leader positionBe a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ (SME) on all department roles and tasksReliable and consistent attendance

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school education or equivalent and six months previous Distribution Center experience or equivalent experienceAbility to perform basic math skills accurately including addition, subtraction, and multiplicationMust be able to fill out paperwork and forms neatly and accuratelyHigh degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applicationsStrong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills; including verbal/written communicationDemonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a teamAbility to work with and influence peers and senior managementAbility to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environmentSelf-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
