Group Director, Business Development - WatchFree+
Position Summary...VIZIO is looking for a senior leader to join us as the Group Director of WatchFree+ and lead the teams responsible for our WatchFree+ business.

You should be comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative, managing multiple projects, and working to find creative solutions with partners.

The ideal candidate understands the intersection of consumer experience and monetization, has extensive experience in programming and curation, a deep knowledge of industry trends and outlooks, and experience across all revenue models and license types.

What you'll do...Oversee VIZIO’s WatchFree+ content acquisition and licensing dealsOversee WatchFree+ budget for content acquisition; track all licensing activity ROIParticipate in deal negotiation for high profile deals (financial analysis and forecasting, term sheet drafting, contract negotiation)Manage and evaluate current and potential channel partners through content analysis, market demand/appeal, competitive positioning and financial modelingContinuous analysis of current channel applications and competitor lineups to prioritize content acquisitionsGuide strategy for the programming team for VIZIO’s O&O channelsDevelop innovative content and programming ideas to drive time spent in the channelsContribute to Competitive Analysis and strategic recommendations with the Director of Content Strategy & InsightsEstablish and monitor metrics to evaluate engagement on channelsUse data analytics and market insight to drive decision making, be responsible for programming the AVOD platform, including content scheduling/windowing.Design a set of content operational performance KPI's that define a best in class service and ensure these targets are maintainedImplement plans and tactics to improve performance of all FAST channelsCoordinate monthly programming and promotional priorities with SmartCast marketing and the editorial teamCoordinate special programming events tied into VIZIO tent poles or other marketing initiativesClosely collaborate with SW Product Management on features and needs to improve engagementWork in tandem with the SW Product Marketing team on brand campaigns and feature campaigns designed to improve user acquisition and retention

In this role, you will lead the business verticals across the WatchFree+ business:

Content Acquisitions. The Content Acquisition team negotiates content deals with a variety of content partners across multiple genres (Movies, TV shows/networks, Music, Sports, Games, Online video, etc). The ideal candidate has strong analytical and negotiation skills to secure the best commercial agreements with partners.O&O Channel Programming. This team is responsible for the curation, programming, and scheduling of content.  You will leverage consumer engagement data to inform content scheduling, programming, and curation and will use these insights to help influence content acquisition efforts.  This includes scheduling of the EPG and associated promotional activity.Content Operations. This team is responsible for QA, QC, and ingest of FAST channels (for TV and mobile) and AVOD content (TV).WatchFree+ Partnerships. The team responsible for business reviews and regular partnership management, working with VIZIO’s content and studio licensors to grow engagement and revenueOn Demand Curation. Merchandising of VIZIO’s on demand content library.

What you’ll bring…Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and 7 years’ experience OR 9 years’ experience in business development and contract negotiation involving content or intellectual property, focusing on partner-facing roles4+ years of experience negotiating SVOD, TVOD, AVOD, and bundles deals preferred.Exceptional leadership skills, with experience managing large teamsA passion and understanding of content landscape, including content partners, service operators, and competitors.An understanding of the relationship between curatorial and computational programmingA solid understanding of the CTV space and entertainment sector, with knowledge of traditional licensing and revenue models. Exceptional partnership management skills, with a focus on aligning long term objectives between the organizations.Advanced knowledge of the CTV advertising market (and associated technical implementations)Solid technical understanding of content delivery systems, programming, scheduling, etc.Experience in redlining term sheets and agreements to be reviewed by counsel as well as the ability to assess recommendations provided by counsel and provide an internal summary.Solid cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to build consensus among teams (product, engineering, marketing, sales, finance).

The annual salary range for this position is $192,000.00-$384,000.00
