**Job Title: Grinder/Shop Labor** Job Description Join our team as a Grinder/Shop Laborer where you will play a crucial role in metal finishing by cleaning, deburring, polishing, and grinding metal items using hand tools or powered equipment. This position requires a keen eye for detail and precision to maintain contours, edges, and precise dimensions. Your role is vital to ensuring that all parts meet the company's high-quality standards. Responsibilities + Clean, deburr, polish, and grind metal items using hand tools or powered equipment while maintaining contours, edges, and precise dimensions. + Read and interpret blueprints and production paperwork, including grain direction and any special handling instructions. + Inspect completed parts to ensure finish meets company quality standards. + Operate tumbling machines to deburr, smooth, and burnish parts. + Use buffing or grinding wheels safely and effectively. + Perform heavy lifting as needed during daily tasks. + Accurately enter job quantities and labor data into the computer system. + Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations. Essential Skills + Hands-on mechanical aptitude. + Experience with hand tools. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. + Experience in reading blueprints and interpreting production paperwork. + Proficiency in operating hand and power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. + Manual dexterity and attention to detail. + Experience with grinding, finishing, or working in a metal fabrication environment is a plus. + Willingness to learn and take direction. Work Environment The role is based in a clean and organized machine shop environment where getting your hands dirty is part of the job. The facility can be warm in the summer as there is no air conditioning. You will work a full-time, 8-hour shift from Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sharon, Massachusetts. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
