Grinder/shop Labor 2nd Shift + OT
**Job Title: Grinder/Shop Labor** **Job Description** The Grinder/Shop Labor role involves working closely with the crew blacksmith to move materials using a press for forging. The position requires reading and marking serial numbers correctly, driving forklifts for material transport, and using calipers to measure the size of forged materials. This role also includes training to manually move materials with tongs and operate manipulators for advanced material movement in furnaces and around press equipment. Additionally, training to operate grinding equipment for processing forgings and stock material is provided. **Responsibilities** + Follow directions from the crew blacksmith to move materials on press for forging. + Read serial numbers and correctly re-mark parts in the forging environment. + Drive forklift for material movement and transportation. + Use calipers and other measuring equipment to determine forged material size. + Train to manually move materials with tongs. + Train to operate manipulators for advanced material movement. + Train to use grinding equipment for processing forgings and input stock materials. + Perform other related duties as requested. **Essential Skills** + Ability to operate grinders and perform grinding of forged metals and alloys. + Proficiency with hand tools and machine operation. + Experience in deburring and grinding processes. + Skill in measuring materials using tape, micrometers, and calipers. + Capability to interpret blueprints. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift experience preferred. + Experience in the manufacturing industry. + Familiarity with hand and power tools. **Why Work Here?** This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, with training provided for skill development and advancement.
