Job Title: Grinder/Metal Finisher

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Metal Finisher to primarily engage in grinding within a production welding and processing atmosphere. This role offers the opportunity to expand into other areas such as operating a press brake, working on a paint line, powder coating, assembly, and potentially learning welding.

ResponsibilitiesPerform grinding tasks efficiently in a production welding environment.Possibly operate a press brake and assist with paint line operations.Participate in powder coating and assembly tasks.Develop skills to learn and perform welding tasks as needed.Essential SkillsExperience with metal fabrication - industrial grinders, saws, cutting torches, sanding, polishing, metal fabrication machine operation, etc.Proficiency in using tape measures and ensuring parts are within specifications.

Work Environment

Work in a mid-sized, 30-person fabrication shop equipped with paint, press brake, welding, and assembly processes. Our growing company has recently expanded with the addition of 6-7 new customers in 2024. The facility includes two buildings and offers production welding in welding bays, handling mild steel ranging from 20 gauge to 1 inch. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with optional overtime on Fridays. Enjoy paid breaks and a 20-minute paid lunch.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract-to-hire position based out of Dunlap, TN.

Starting Pay: $18-$19/hr, depending on experience

Shift: 1st- 5:30am to about 3:30pm CENTRAL TIME

Breaks: two 10-minute paid breaks and one 20-minute paid lunch break per shift

Schedule: Monday - Thursday; OT on Fridays as needed

Weekly hours: 40-45, maybe 50 on occasions

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
