Greenhouse Technician Location: Jerseyville, IL Shift: 7:00 AM Start Experience: 2+ Years Preferred Are you passionate about greenhouse operations, plant care, and hands-on research support? What You’ll Do Greenhouse Environmental Control & Irrigation Learn and operate environmental control systems, including irrigation programming and alarm monitoring. Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting on greenhouse chambers, lighting systems, and environmental equipment. Greenhouse Operations & Maintenance Keep greenhouse spaces clean, organized, and safe. Maintain evaporative cooling components. Support daily activities such as planting, sampling, pollination, and harvesting. Research Support Assist with experiment setup and takedown, including installing irrigation systems. Collect data as part of collaborative research projects. Clean, maintain, and store equipment after use. Help develop and improve greenhouse operation protocols. Logistics & Communication Collaborate with other greenhouse sites when needed. Participate in project and team meetings. Communicate timely updates, issues, and operational changes. Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies. What You Bring Interest in greenhouse operations, plant propagation, and irrigation systems. Strong organizational, observational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-project team. High attention to detail and strong task‑prioritization. Willingness to obtain Ag Worker and Pesticide Handler training. Ability to work in greenhouse, field, and lab environments—including physically demanding or adverse conditions. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift materials for extended periods. Basic math skills and competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). Availability to work some weekends and holidays. 2+ years of related experience strongly preferred. Additional Details No travel required. Driving for company business is not required.
