The General Medicines Business unit is one of three Sanofi’s BUs. It is the largest one, employing over 15,500 people worldwide, with broad geographical footprint spanning most of the countries. GBU Medical teams are primarily focused on Autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes and Transplant as core innovative areas, while continuing to support efforts on improving the day-to-day health of patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The GBU is continuously evolving to: + Launching transformative therapies in the areas of autoimmune T1D and Transplant. + Coupling technology with clinical expertise to better understand patient needs, empowering them to manage chronic conditions. + Rebuilding pipeline through internal and external innovation + Boosting omnichannel strategy for customers and patients, using data and Artificial Intelligence to personalize the engagements. + Growing core assets and increasing their reach with new digital health business models About the job The Greater Golf is a multi country organisation that consists of the 6 following countries : Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrein, As Greater Golf Medical Head, you are part of the Key Markets Medical Leadership Team as well as Greater Golf Leadership Team, and you will shape the MCO medical strategy & operational medical plans for an exciting & innovative portfolio, in alignment with the global and local strategy. You will also be responsible to accelerate medical capabilities according to the current and future needs of the company and the market, and to achieve medical leadership and competitive advantage in Greater Golf, and thus to realize our vision: + to improve public health by finding healthcare solutions for patients and through the appropriate and effective use of both our innovations and established products, within the highest ethical and compliance standards. + by contributing actively to drive our R&D driven, AI empowered ambition in digital healthcare and Real-World Evidence generation **Main responsibilities** + Lead in the region medical strategy, planning and resourcing for successful launch of transformative therapies in autoimmune T1D and Transplant areas + Build scientific ecosystem in Greater Golf embracing transformative therapies in aT1D and Transplant areas leveraging partnerships with relevant scientific and institutional stakeholders (key opinion leaders, external experts, health technology assessment bodies and health regulatory authorities). Maintain and reinforce the strategic & scientific position of Sanofi in the Greater Golfese healthcare ecosystem + Provide strategic leadership for the medical function in Greater Golf and partner with the business to co-create the coherent strategic action plan, ensuring scientific rigor and patient outcomes + Leverage Real World data and deploy Artificial Intelligence and digital enablers to generate evidence and insights, build a foundation for a data driven decision making to improve medical affairs decisions and operational efficiency, aiming to improve patient outcomes + Ensure optimal life cycle management for growth products and legacy portfolio in partnership with relevant functional counterparts + Develop a compelling vision for Medical Affairs in Greater Golf in accordance with company “Glocal model” principles, aligned with global medical strategy and business objectives. + Lead optimization and execution of Greater Golf medical plans that maximize product value. Proactively enable and drive cross-functional partnerships across medical and non-medical functions – commercial, market access, public affairs, regulatory, safety, clinical operations, R&D – to ensure building of integrated plans - including data generation - across all functions, (reports, publications, presentations to health authorities, presentations to scientific congresses, or company sponsored events) + Lead transformations and develop high performing teams & talent pipeline. Develop agile ways of working, with a ‘customer first’ mindset, foster strong collaboration with a global Go To Market Capabilities organization + Manage proactively the country medical budget. Identify synergies, propose the appropriate resource allocation for medical initiatives at General Medicines and cross-BU level About you **Education** + Advanced scientific background: i.e. Medical Degree, PhD, PharmD (MD highly preferred). **Experience & Knowledge** + Minimum of 10 years of job-related experience + Strong track record in developing and executing a medical strategy and leading a sizable medical affairs function + Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining a KOL network, ideally in Greater Golf + Product launch experience + Experience in working across and building effective partnerships among R&D, Commercial, Medical, Safety, and Regulatory + Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape + Experience in deploying digital enablers in Medical Affairs + Significant leadership experience, people management and proven ability to partner with and impact key stakeholders **Leadership Profile** + Innovative thinking + Collaborative & open-minded + Strong interpersonal and influencing skills + Transformative leadership: Ability to create and articulate a vision for the medical organization and embark teams in that evolutive journey + Strategic and innovative thinking; ease to move from activity to impact + Ability to take calculated risks and feel comfortable with making bold decisions + High energy, motivated, driven, with the ability to think and contribute beyond functional expertise.
