Content Platforms & Operations
Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.
The Distribution Operations team within CPO delivers content and supporting components for Disney’s incredible global streaming services and brands - from Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, National Geographic, ABC and ABC News, Walt Disney Studios, and Disney Channels. This team impacts the way millions of people around the world experience and engage with Disney’s iconic stories and unmatched content in more personalized and immersive ways.
The teams in this organization work with senior stakeholders from many parts of the Disney Entertainment business to ensure content readiness for all content on Disney+/Hotstar, and Hulu on Disney+. This role requires a high degree of communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to creatively solve problems, troubleshoot issues, and constantly evolve workflows.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, strategic Graphic Designer II who will be part of the Distribution Operations team in Glendale, CA, and reporting to the Sr Manager of Artwork & Design Operations. The Artwork & Design Operations team creates language-specific assets for international markets by adapting the original versions (OV) of title logos, platform artwork, print mechanicals, and static creative assets. Our team is comprised of title artists, graphic designers, quality control specialists, and project managers that specialize in international design standards and creative process development. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in artwork localization management to help lead the day-to-day requirements for localization operations. This person will assist in artwork orders, technical specification, timelines, studio and vendor outreach, and territory communications. This job requires interface with multiple business units within TWDC; therefore, the candidate must have sensitivity to customer service and a sense of diplomacy. This person will be a point of contact for titles within a specific workflow, overseeing and working with various internal departments, vendors & territory offices to provide order alignment, and working with creative vendors and internal teams toward final delivery of content to Disney Streaming.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Owns the Artwork Localization workflow (i.e., artwork design and creation, vendor management), schedules, and Service Level Agreements (SLA)Assist with managing client expectations and relationshipsReports Quality Control (QC) issues and manages deliverablesUploads assets to system management tools to ensure successful upload to PlatformMaintains artwork specifications for all ordersLiaises with partners and production teams to communicate needs and resolve issuesPrimary point of contact and escalation for artwork ordersAnalyzes, assesses, and reports production metricsEffectively communicates project and title level updates cross-functionally and with our internal and external partnersAbility to communicate effectively on a regular cadence to wide audiences on overall project healthKnowledgeable and realistic when balancing client demands with creative and qualitative integrityTroubleshoots issues and performs root cause analysis to define what happened and how the issue can be avoided/resolved going forwardProvides timely feedback to Manager on perceived delays or challenges to the defined delivery deadlinesPerceives and identifies patterns that can facilitate resolution to complex problemsApplies creative and practical solutions for problem solvingAble to work effectively with internal teams, vendors, and other designersRequired Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s DegreeMinimum 3 years of related work experienceExperience in managing content localization workflow required (Minimum 2 years)Knowledge of localization workflows in the entertainment industryStrong organizational and multi-tasking skillsStong design sensibilityStrong knowledge of Adobe Suites: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)Ability to use AI-powered graphic design software (like Adobe Photoshop’s AI features including FireFly) to quickly create, edit, and/or enhance images while keeping to brand guidelinesKnowledgeable in Workfront, Smartsheet, Airtable, Google SuitePreferred Qualifications
Digital Media and Distribution experience Mac Proficient Knowledge of Digital Asset Management Systems Knowledge of, or versatility in understanding, other languages as it relates to artwork localization is a plusThe hiring range for this position in California is $79,100 to $96,500 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
