Grants Manager Location: New York City, NY Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced Grants Manager to lead compliance oversight and risk management for federally funded programs. This role is critical to ensuring adherence to federal regulations and maintaining strong internal controls across all grant-related activities. You will develop and implement compliance frameworks, monitor adherence to policies, and provide strategic guidance to leadership on corrective actions and risk mitigation. Key Responsibilities + Develop and implement a Compliance Oversight and Monitoring Program to ensure adherence to federal requirements. + Evaluate existing procedures and conduct spot checks to confirm compliance with established policies. + Collaborate with internal departments to identify and prioritize compliance risks, establishing a methodology for ranking by impact. + Assess high-priority risks for alignment with federal rules, regulations, and guidelines. + Prepare reports and recommendations for corrective actions and monitor implementation to ensure compliance. + Track audit requests, letters, and reviews initiated by USDOT, FTA, or FRA. + Lead the drafting of responses and provide strategic direction to leadership. + Manage the collection and submission of supporting documentation from relevant departments to meet deadlines. Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. + 7–10 years of experience leading compliance oversight programs, including prior experience as a grant recipient. + Strong knowledge of FTA compliance requirements and federal grant regulations. + Proven ability to develop and operationalize new programs in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Skills + Expertise in grants management, compliance, and contract administration. + Familiarity with USDOT, FTA, and FRA guidelines. + Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
