Job Title: Grant Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Grant Administrator to join our team. This position is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with grantor and institutional requirements. You will play a crucial role in financial review, data reconciliation, and assisting with audits, all while working within a supportive and knowledgeable team environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and budget vouchers with appropriate backup documentation.Analyze data, reconcile general ledger accounts, and verify the accuracy of accounting classifications.Maintain organized files and records, both digital and physical, as required.Prepare periodic and special reports detailing the status or analysis of grant accounts.Submit work assignments to supervisors for review of accuracy and completeness.Address issues related to grants accounting and ensure compliance with grantor and institutional requirements.Attend trainings and meetings as needed to stay updated on processes and requirements.Assist the grants office and institutional research office with reviewing new grant applications and related budgets.Prepare for audits and respond to auditors' questions effectively.Ensure compliance with Federal, State, local, and private grants.Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.3+ years of experience in Accounting, with a focus on reconciliation, month-end processes, project management, journal entries, and fund accounting.Familiarity with debits/credits, preparing and recording journal entries, expense reports, billing reimbursements, and financial reports for grants.Experience working within GAAP.Intermediate Excel skills are required.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Non-profit accounting experience is preferred.Fund accounting experience is preferred.Work Environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.41 - $27.41/hr.
