In the role of Graduate Research Assistant, the student’s duties and responsibilities will align with current projects and events, which include, but are not limited to: planning and preparing research presentations, conducting literature reviews on borderlands related topics, assisting with qualitative and quantitative data analysis, creating data visualizations, and performing assigned clerical tasks and social media-related objectives. Under the supervision of the Program Manager duties will vary depending on the project and assigned research/scholarly functions or other creative projects for the Center including but not limited to: · Coordinates communications for projects and activities that support the Center of The Borderlands under the mission and vision of the Bilingual Integration Office. · Creates, develops, and implements strategic marketing and communications plans for the department in line with the overall university goals and strategies. · Designs publications and other informational materials for various departmental activities. · Coordinates communiqués via various media resources. · Writes to communicate information to a diverse population of students, staff and faculty. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications · Responsible, enthusiastic, independent, adheres to deadlines, and takes initiative. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Able to work well with diverse groups of people and have excellent communication skills. · Must be able to work independently with little supervision. Preferred Qualifications · Bilingual, Bicultural, and/or Biliterate, preferably in English and Spanish · Experience developing content and engagement with social media platforms and programming activities. · Experience with writing, marketing, and/or research related activities · Research, writing, or marketing backgrounds preferred or similar field. · Knowledge of HTML , Canvas, CSS , Adobe Photoshop or other graphic design tools a plus.
