Assists Athletic Academic Support staff and the Deputy AD/ SWA to provide quality academic support to student-athletes. 2. Supports student-athlete health and wellness, community engagement, leadership and professional development, and assist with Student Athlete Advisory Committee ( SAAC ). 3. Assists with the recruitment, orientation, initial and continuing academic advising, pre-registration, and enrollment of student-athletes. 4. Conducts regularly scheduled academic meetings with assigned student-athletes and prepares academic road maps for at-risk student-athletes. 5. Supervises study hall for student athletes. 6. Assists in the monitoring of academic progress of student-athletes and advises student-athletes as to how to stay on course to meet NCAA eligibility and institutional graduation requirements. Active member of the NCAA Certification Team. 7. Responsible for providing missed class reports and academic progress reports. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications ● Currently enrolled and in good standing in a graduate degree program at UTRGV . ● Strong communication skills (both oral and in writing). ● Attention to detail.
