Government Regulatory Director

This position can be based in Jersey City, New Jersey or remote in the D.C. area.

Manage legislative and regulatory monitoring activities across Verisk enterprise, and manage collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve coordinated, informed response. Manage interaction with federal and state legislative/regulatory bodies as well as trade associations.

Candidate will be expected to maintain awareness of current events and topics at the federal and state level, whilst maintaining relations and liaising with relevant organizations/stakeholders. Relationships with regulatory agencies and policymakers with jurisdiction over data analytics issues will be critical to candidate’s success.

Bachelor's degree required and candidates with advanced degrees preferred.10-15 years’ experience in a public policy, government affairs, legislative and/or regulatory role.Must have strong understanding of the regulatory environment, legislative affairs and advocacy environment.Deep knowledge and network in the data analytics industry a plus.Innovative problem solving and organizational acumen necessary.Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external stakeholders necessary.Candidate should be a proactive self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced building environment.Computer literacy skills required.Knowledge of Verisk operations is a plus

Partner with senior executives to define, implement, and communicate strategic direction and initiatives; streamlining processes to create efficiencies.Identify emerging federal, state, and international regulatory/legislative issues and matters in their preliminary stages.Communicate with management and executive-level regarding legislative and regulatory environment and industry issues.Develop deep knowledge of Verisk enterprise and products to ensure successful execution of job responsibilities.Analyze proposed legislative and regulatory actions, determine potential impact on Verisk products, and develop appropriate responses.Collaborate with Verisk staff and management to identify needs, initiate, develop, and execute strategic plans to achieve compliance with legislative and regulatory changes in support of corporate goals to maintain compliant products and services.Build successful partnerships and implement initiatives that promote business/operational objectives with internal and external stakeholders.Engage with divisions to develop coordinated solutions to legislative and regulatory issues affecting Verisk products and services.Manage preparation of internal material and resource documents to address technical issues relating to legislation and regulation.Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with regulatory agencies, congressional committee members and staff, trade associations and other industry interested parties.Spearhead external engagement meetings with regulatory agencies, congressional committee members, and staff at the federal and state level.Represent Verisk at various industry and regulatory forums.Manage trade associations and consultants.Contribute to the development of Verisk's policy positions.Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
