In this role you will get to define and maintain the governance framework and oversee structures **What You'll Be Doing:** + Define and maintain the governance framework. + Establish and oversee governance structures, decision authorities, and Terms of Reference. + Establish standardized codification structures. + Ensure decisions are evidence based, controlled, and auditable. + Integrate governance with assurance and audit to support transparency, compliance, and risk management. + Establish and maintain configuration management for governance frameworks and artefacts, ensuring version control, traceability, and controlled change. + Act as the primary interface with Internal and External Audit, ensuring continuous audit readiness. + Track and drive closure of governance, assurance, and audit findings. + Monitor governance effectiveness and drive continual improvement using quality management principles. **Key Interfaces** + Executive leadership, Assurance (Quality/HSSE/ICT), and Audit, Risk and Compliance, Program and Portfolio leadership. **Key Deliverables** + Quality based governance framework and operating model + Delegations of Authority and decision matrices + Committee structures and Terms of Reference + Assurance plans and governance reporting + Audit evidence and management responses **Success Measures** + Clear and timely decision making + Positive assurance and audit outcomes + Reduced repeat findings and systemic issues + Leadership confidence in governance effectiveness **Knowledge & Experience** + Demonstrated experience in: + Governance design and operation + Quality Management Systems + Assurance and audit environments + Experience operating in complex, regulated, or capital intensive environments. + Familiarity with recognized governance standards (e.g. ISO based frameworks). **Skills & Attributes** + High level of professional independence and judgement + Strong stakeholder and executive engagement capability + Structured, analytical, and evidence driven mindset + Ability to balance governance rigor with operational pragmatism + Proven experience establishing and operating governance frameworks. + Direct experience interfacing with Internal Audit and External Audit, including audit preparation, execution, and response management. + Experience managing assurance and audit findings through corrective action and continual improvement. + Demonstrated experience operating in complex, regulated, or large-scale program environments. **Education Requirements** + 18+ years’ progressive experience in governance, quality management, assurance, audit, or related oversight roles. + Bachelor’s degree in: Construction, Engineering, Business, Management, Law, or a related discipline. + Postgraduate qualification desirable (e.g. MBA, MSc, or equivalent). + Professional certification in governance, risk, audit, or quality management is advantageous. + Experience operating within complex, regulated, or large scale program environments. + Demonstrated capability to engage and influence senior leadership and key stakeholders.
