Thousands of engineers globally are shaping this platform, and our Prague tech hub is a key part of that effort. But we don’t just keep the engine running—we push the tech boundaries of what’s possible, alongside teams from Lisbon, London, and New York. Here in Prague, we have teams specializing in frontend development (including mobile, TV, and web), backend development (Java), DevOps & Platform Engineering, AWS, and data science. 

 

  

What role will you play?  

Your primary focus will be building highly a functional team with a great focus on best development practices in the Golang world. This is an excellent opportunity to influence the development of the observability and KPI automation that powers well-renowned brands such as Peacock, NOW, Sky Showtime, and more. Be a key part of building a premium streaming service solving the challenge of supporting a huge range of video streaming-capable devices. 

What is the plot?  

Our streaming platform is at the forefront of technology, leveraging modern video codecs, adaptive bitrate streaming, low-latency streaming, and support for live streaming. We deliver innovative features to users while ensuring we maintain world-class playback KPIs and streaming standards, regardless of the device or operating system. 

The Playback Experience team is looking for an exceptional leader to improve and evolve our observability and KPI automation systems. Join us as we embark on challenging solutions and iterate on the future of streaming video technology. 

 

 Your daily tasks:  

Mentor and develop engineers through regular feedback and growth plans. 

Lead cross-team collaboration, translating requirements into clear deliverables. 

Drive code quality and best practices via reviews, tech talks, and AI tooling. 

Deliver robust, scalable solutions aligned with business needs and architecture. 

Own team estimation, risk management, and delivery forecasting. 

Prioritize and manage the team roadmap, communicating progress and trade-offs. 

Champion new tools and processes that improve productivity or quality. 

Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture. 

 

What skills do you need to play your role well?   

At least 4 years’ experience leading engineering teams, including hands-on senior-level development in Golang, with a proven track record of delivering production-grade software. 

A history of effective cross-functional collaboration, with specific examples of working with product, design, or QA to deliver complex features. 

Experience managing delivery against deadlines and constraints, including setting stakeholder expectations, proactively identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies. 

Demonstrated analytic problem-solving skills, with examples of driving solutions independently and collaboratively within a team  

Demonstrable experience building observability and KPI automation solutions, including custom dashboarding and Slack/JIRA automation
