As a GNC Engineer – Level 1 located in Chandler, AZ, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

   

In this role, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of guidance, navigation, and control systems for advanced aerospace applications, including aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and launch vehicles. Your work will involve applying mathematical models, control theories, and algorithm development to achieve precision in navigation and control performance. You will also play a key role in analyzing system behavior, designing solutions, and integrating hardware and software components to ensure system reliability and mission success.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Design, develop, implement, verify, and test high-quality software and simulation toolchainsWork on a 6 degree of freedom (6DOF) simulation to design and test missile flight codeWork with 6DoF simulation models to evaluate system performanceWork with missile flight dynamics, autopilot and guidance design, and implementation into missile flight codeWork with various trajectory optimization software and toolsOther duties as assigned

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of professional experience.  Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearanceBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Exposure to C++ development in a Linux environmentExposure to MATLAB and Python toolchains

 Preferred Qualifications:  

Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.Control systems theory and flight dynamics proficiencyProficiency in creating and maintaining analysis tools in C++, MATLAB and PythonProficiency in C++ development in a Linux environmentProficiency in MATLAB and Python toolchainsExisting active and in scope Secret Clearance upon application

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
