GME Senior Sales Executive

The GME Senior Sales Executive is a high-energy, proactive sales role focused on winning new business and driving group rooms and catering revenue.

This is a true sales-hunter position — hands-on, target-driven and execution-focused — responsible for sourcing, converting and growing small-to-mid size groups and events, anchored in the Central North Island market (Taupo, Rotorua, Tauranga, Napier and Hastings, Hamilton etc), with scope to extend reach into broader regional and national opportunities.

The role works closely with Revenue Management and Conference & Events to maximise rooms-led group business, catering spend and total revenue contribution. 

What will I be doing? 

Key Responsibilities


1. Proactive Group Sales (Hunter Focus)
•    Aggressively source and convert new group, meeting and event business.
•    Own a structured prospecting rhythm: outbound calls, local sales trips, referrals, networking and market blitzes.
•    Target short- and medium-lead opportunities to support base business and need periods.
•    Actively build pipeline from Central North Island market (Taupo, Rotorua, Tauranga, Napier and Hastings, Hamilton etc), with scope to extend reach into broader regional and national opportunities.
•    Consistently identify new accounts and decision-makers to grow market share.

2. Group Rooms & Catering Revenue Delivery
•    Drive rooms-led group business while maximising catering and ancillary spend.
•    Support strong conversion through disciplined follow-up, needs-based selling and commercial urgency.
•    Partner with Revenue Management on pricing, patterns and displacement decisions.
•    Identify opportunities to upsell catering, packages and value-added elements.

3. Account Growth & Retention
•    Manage a focused portfolio of active group accounts.
•    Drive repeat business and year-on-year growth through regular contact and targeted selling.
•    Lead site inspections and client meetings with a confident, commercial sales approach.
•    Convert satisfied clients into repeat producers and brand advocates.

4. Sales Discipline & Systems
•    Maintain a clean, accurate and actionable pipeline in Hilton sales systems (Delphi, Salesforce).
•    Track conversion, lost business and market trends to sharpen future sales tactics.
•    Ensure timely contracts, function agreements and billing details.
•    Provide clear updates on risks, opportunities and production.

5. Collaboration & Brand Representation
•    Work closely with Conference & Events, Operations and Revenue to ensure seamless delivery.
•    Act as a visible, credible ambassador for Hilton Auckland in regional and local markets.
•    Operate in line with Hilton brand standards, policies and compliance requirements.

Experience

•    Proven success in groups / events sales within a full-service or upscale hotel.

Travel
•    This role requires a high level of mobility and a strong on-the-road presence. The individual must be willing and able to travel regularly, as success in this position is built on consistent in-person meetings, face-to-face sales calls, and active engagement within key markets.
