This role is designed for a seasoned procurement professional with deep expertise in the software and enterprise cloud vendor landscape. The manager will be instrumental in defining and executing next-generation sourcing strategies for the organization. THE OPPORTUNITY: The Global Sourcing Manager is responsible for defining and executing commodity strategies and sourcing assigned to them. This includes the identification and development of vendors, in- depth analysis and negotiation of portfolios, and complex contracting. The Manager will provide Strategic Procurement leadership to News Corp, ensuring accountability for commodity management and supplier engagement for Software Applications and Engineering Tools. They will be responsible for sustainably optimizing total acquisition cost at global and regional levels, while establishing best-in-class procurement processes and driving innovation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive Commodity or Sub- Commodity Strategy for Software Applications and Security Engineering Tools, with an emphasis on Enterprise Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) providers. • Expertise & Market Intelligence: • Serve as the subject matter expert for Software Applications and Engineering Tools, including developments within the market, competitor activity, technology, and capability, to ensure a strong negotiating position and deliver lowest cost acquisition. • Maintain a strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and their impact on software sourcing and agreements. • Maintain deep understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS vendor landscapes and commercial models. • Negotiation & Contracts: • Lead and execute complex negotiations and renegotiations of Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) with global suppliers. • Draft, review, and govern critical software agreements, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and API terms and conditions. • Ensure sourcing, bid, and procurement processes across News Corp are challenged, improved, and consistently applied. • Performance & Governance: • Drive the delivery of annual cost saving initiatives for the software commodity. • Be Accountable for the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance of the software commodity and associated improvement plans. • Governance and Ownership of Long-Term Agreements for the Suppliers. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Required Experience & Technical Knowledge: • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Computing Systems) or equivalent experience. • Minimum of 8-10 years of extensive contracting and sourcing experience within a technically demanding environment, with a solid focus on software and enterprise cloud vendors. • Significant experience in driving complex negotiations to closure, including resolving legal, commercial terms through engagement of legal and business stakeholders. Proven experience in managing global stakeholders in US/Europe/Asia • Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing complex global Commodity Strategies. • Expert-level understanding of software agreements, DPAs, and API licensing terms. • Proven Experience negotiating with global technology vendors .
