Global Rates - Syndicate Deal Management – Analyst or Associate

The Rates Syndicate Desk brings new issues to market for Sovereigns, Supranationals, Agencies (SSA), and Local Authorities. This is a high-profile and fast-paced environment, especially during periods of large issuance volumes. 

As Analyst or Associate you will work closely with Debt Capital Markets colleagues to deliver best-in-class advice and execution for issuer clients. The role also involves regular communication with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Trading, and Middle Office teams, and may provide cross-coverage with the Credit Fixed Income Syndicate Desk.

Job Responsibilities:

Reconcile live books during the bookbuild process. Manage all hedging of risk in coordination with risk-taking teams. Assist in the booking of all trade tickets in Athena. Monitor and resolve all trade fails. Manage the prospectus delivery process for all new issues syndicated by the desk. Maintain all Syndicate deal files, including legal and regulatory record-keeping. Ensure up-to-date knowledge of regulations relating to new issues (e.g., Stabilisation, Canadian Wrappers) and ensuring desk compliance. Cross-check P&L and risk reports. Support any other deal-related administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Confident and concise communicator, able to interact effectively with various stakeholders. Prior experience in managing risk and dealing with regulations. Previous experience and understanding of the new issues process is preferred. Experience with reconciliation processes, including tie-outs and hedging, is advantageous. Knowledge of Athena and Insight preferred. Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal preferred. Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
