The Global Process Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the process engineering components of global strategic initiatives, driving the standardization of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials across the BIAH vaccine manufacturing network. The role provides technical leadership to address and resolve complex aseptic and process‑related challenges, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance across all sites within the global network.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
**Influence Global Vaccine Processing Performance**
+ Coach, mentor, and technically support teams by providing insight, recommending alternatives, and removing obstacles.
+ Manage goal setting aligned with departmental and organizational objectives and support achievement of established goals.
+ Support and encourage employee career development and growth opportunities.
**Standardize Production Materials, Equipment, and Process Parameters**
+ Identify and establish global standards for production materials (e.g., consumables), process equipment, and critical process parameters across the BIAH vaccine network.
+ Drive global standardization of processes and associated materials.
+ Lead global standardization of process equipment and operating parameters.
+ Deliver and lead global technology advancements to enhance vaccine manufacturing capabilities.
+ Support successful adoption of manufacturing and process technology improvements across the network.
+ Provide direction and input on future equipment design in alignment with global standards.
**Maintain Aseptic Processing Engineering Standards**
+ Establish and maintain a global network of aseptic process engineering experts.
+ Support development and implementation of aseptic processing standardization across sites.
+ Coordinate sharing of learnings and best‑known methods within the network.
+ Provide technical expertise and conduct necessary training related to aseptic manufacturing processes.
+ Generate and support site‑specific aseptic processing technical assessments.
**Participate in Technical Evaluations for Due Diligence & Strategic Capital Projects**
+ Participate in multidisciplinary teams on complex technical projects, supporting planning and cost development.
+ Evaluate facility fit for new projects, technology implementation, and new or modified production processes.
+ Provide technical guidance on new building, clean‑room, and infrastructure design.
+ Support project teams from feasibility through conceptual design, implementation, and facility start‑up.
**Provide Technical Support for Product & Process Transfers**
+ Manage and support planning, monitoring, and reporting of product and process transfers across facilities.
+ Provide engineering and operational expertise during transfers.
+ Lead technical teams to identify process improvements that reduce cost and increase efficiency.
+ Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, determining root causes and supporting corrective actions.
**Generate and Analyze Mixing & Mass Transfer Models**
+ Develop reliable mixing and mass‑transfer models to predict process performance.
+ Use models to support or lead yield improvement initiatives.
+ Support product transfer projects by modeling equipment at both sending and receiving sites to inform transfer decisions.
**Identify and Evaluate New Manufacturing Processes & Technologies**
+ Lead and support strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, optimize cost, and expand capacity.
+ Champion new technologies that strengthen manufacturing methods and capabilities.
+ Support the evaluation, introduction, and implementation of new technologies across global sites.
+ Monitor in‑process data and outcomes to enhance process understanding and drive continuous improvement.
**Requirements**
+ Associate’s degree **plus** specialized and relevant engineering certification(s), **and** a minimum of 12 years leading process engineering aspects of global strategic projects, including the standardization of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials within a global vaccine or pharmaceutical manufacturing organization or other regulated environment; **OR**
+ Bachelor’s degree **and** a minimum of 10 years leading process engineering aspects of global strategic projects, including the standardization of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials within a global vaccine or pharmaceutical manufacturing organization or other regulated environment.
+ Demonstrated technical leadership, influence, and commitment to developing people and teams.
+ Fluency in English required; additional language skills are considered an asset.
+ Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
+ Demonstrated leadership, influence, and people development in international and intercultural collaboration environments.
+ Proven ability to communicate effectively and engage diverse audiences across functions and organizational levels, from individual contributors to senior leadership.
+ Demonstrated depth of specialized technical knowledge and leadership within the relevant engineering discipline.
+ Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities, including the ability to guide experts and influence peers.
**Eligibility Requirements:**
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
+ Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
