Global Investment Banking - FIG Associate

Job Description:

As a seasoned Investment Banking professional, you’ll have experience developing strong relationships with corporates and financial institution clients and working across different products. You’ll work on deals and transaction across the spectrum of our banking products, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, loans, and equity capital and debt capital raises. This role is based in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) banking team based in Hong Kong.

Job responsibilities:

Working with senior bankers in originating, structuring and executing financing and advisory transactions across various products including M&As, IPOs, bonds, loans and structured productsBuilding and using complex financial models, competing valuation and analytical exercises for  pitches and live projectsExecuting transaction: supporting due diligence, document preparation, negotiation etc. and liaising with relevant counterparties at the client / other advisers (lawyers, accountants, legal etc.) Interacting with senior team members and client management teams to execute transactions and identifying and managing all risks in a given dealDrafting presentation materials, management presentations, board materials, memorandums and other presentation materials for use in M&A and capital markets transactions or strategic client dialogueKeeping abreast of key market developments, establishing knowledge base in FIG sector, and developing content for maximum client impactGuiding, reviewing and coordinating the analytic work of junior bankers to move marketing / execution process forwardProviding leadership and mentorship in guiding and training junior bankers and research analysts

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance/Economics or a related field from a top tier educational institutionMinimum 3 years of relevant investment banking experienceStrong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects with excellent analytical and decision-making capabilitiesUnderstands transaction cycle and the steps in the process and is execution orientedImpeccable communication details with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other lines of businessSelf-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, team-based environmentProven proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPointProficiency in Mandarin
