Global Commodity Buyer, Electronics (m/f/d)
This position, Global Commodity Buyer for Electronics (PCBAs and Tiered Electronic Components, i.e. actives and passives), is a seasoned level role having specific category buying experience with strategic emphasis on electronic assemblies and or components. In this role, you will continuously assess internal requirements, external market factors, and supplier performance against the commodity strategy to effectively develop and execute supply chain tactics that will deliver the strongest value position for BorgWarner Turbo and Thermal Technologies (TTT). This role supports the growing future of electric products while maintaining foundational combustion products and will report to the GCM of Electronics in TTT.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work for and alongside the GCM of Electronics, supporting the global RU supply chain teams, and with key cross-functional teams to help manage the global TTT Electronics commodity.

Assess, support, manage global supplier performance through business / supplier scorecard reviews, capacity assessments, supplier negotiations, agreements, and other supplier management functions.

Optimize commodity spending and help deliver target savings annually through cost reductions, cost avoidance, and operational improvements.

Review and help maintain relevant system data & processes for the commodity (SAP, EASL, Power BI, SPS, Ivalua, etc.)

Further develop technical skills and knowledge of eComponents for the BU, in order to:

Identify, recommend, implement alternative component suppliers and materials for strengthening supplier strategy, cost savings, resourcing/dual sourcing opportunities, supplier VAVE activities and design for cost.

Coordinate global sourcing activities with manufacturing, quality, & engineering departments to acquire electronic materials in the most cost effective and timely manner; help ensure supplier launch readiness.

Support and help lead global sourcing events and other related commodity activities.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

Support Electronics Team / GCM for all commodity and supplier related activities for TTT BU.

Continually reduce year-over-year material cost through negotiations, value analysis, long term supply agreements, resourcing actions and competitive industry knowledge.

Monitor and support the commodity supply base in continually developing suppliers to be consistent with BorgWarner cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

Participate in cross-functional BorgWarner teams (engineering, supplier quality, and local purchasing) and with external suppliers, to develop and execute design for cost / VAVE programs.

Work cross-BU (e.g. PDS) to align and execute on eComponent requirements for TTT.

Support RU sourcing projects to align commodity strategy, project goals, requirements, and milestones.

Leverage the RU sourcing pipeline of projects to optimize bundling and leveraging opportunities.

Help monitor KPIs and adjust plans accordingly to meet or exceed targets and prepare reporting.

Proactively identify, analyze, mitigate, and monitor risks for the commodity; escalate when appropriate.

Travel globally to supplier locations, BW factories, and other in-person meetings as required.

Support and perform all other duties as assigned.
