Global Business Services (GBS) Strategy Senior Manager
Position Summary

Our Global Business Services (GBS) team serves as a trusted advisor and thought partner to CFOs, CAOs and other executive clients focused on captive and outsourced operations. We leverage Deloitte's comprehensive capabilities, assets, and insights to deliver innovative, market-driven solutions. Our mission is to help clients modernize functions which are part of their GBS organization including Finance, HR, Technology, Procurement, and other back office and core business functions, with the goal to enhance financial and operational performance, manage financial and audit risks, drive organizational change, and become strategic business partners within their organizations.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our Global Business Services (GBS) team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in multi-functional GBS operations and operating model design, exceptional ability to craft and deliver compelling storyboards for executive audiences, and advanced stakeholder management skills at the senior leadership level. This individual will bring a strong track record of integrating technology and process design, as well as leading complex change management initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will drive strategic business transformation programs, architect effective governance structures, lead the implementation of new capabilities on a global scale, and optimize functional processes by leveraging the latest technologies.

Work You’ll Do:

As a GBS Strategy Senior Manager, you will lead large, complex engagements for some of the world’s biggest organizations. You will oversee the strategy, design, and implementation of creative business and technology solutions aimed at driving operational effectiveness, cost efficiencies, and organizational agility. In this role, you will architect and guide strategies and transformation programs that enable growth and value creation by driving innovation into core business operations, standardizing and simplifying the way work gets done, and optimizing service delivery models.

You will be responsible for leading business model transformations and cultivating enterprise agility to ensure transformations are anchored in, and unlock, value. As a Senior Manager, you will also play a key role in developing client relationships, mentoring teams, and contributing to practice growth.

Key Areas of Focus:

Sales and Opportunity Development Lead the development of proposed solutions, presentation materials, and economic models to address prospective client needs. Guide pursuit teams and contribute to business development activities. Participate in and lead client sales presentations. Strategic Planning and Execution Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to align GBS strategies with broader business objectives. Oversee the evaluation and implementation of new business initiatives to drive growth and innovation within the GBS framework. Guide the development and execution of strategic plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of GBS organizations. Operating Model Structures and Governance Develop and implement robust operating model structures and governance frameworks for GBS organizations. Advise clients on compliance with governance policies and procedures and drive continuous improvement of governance practices. Customer Experience Design Oversee the design of operating models for internal customer management, infusing omni-channel solutions, persona-based Moments that Matter, workflow technology, and intelligent automation. Collaborate with technology teams to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into solutions. Process Design and Optimization Lead the analysis of existing functional processes and interaction models to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization within the GBS organization. Guide the use of established and emerging tools and technologies to implement streamlined processes that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery. Storyboarding and Communication Oversee the translation of complex ideas and data into clear, concise, and visually appealing formats for various audiences. Guide the development of compelling models, storyboards, and presentations to communicate strategic initiatives, project plans, and business cases to stakeholders. Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, including senior executives, business unit leaders, and external partners. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for GBS initiatives. Change Management Champion and oversee change management efforts to support the successful implementation of new processes, technologies, and organizational changes within the GBS function. Guide the development and execution of change management plans, including communication strategies, training programs, and stakeholder engagement activities. Global Collaboration and Coordination Lead collaboration with teams in Deloitte’s US India practice and other member firms around the world to develop strategies and deliver projects. Ensure seamless coordination and knowledge sharing across global teams.

Senior Manager-Level Responsibilities

Deliver service excellence by identifying and addressing complex client business issues, serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders. Lead the response to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and other client opportunities, shaping solution approaches and guiding pursuit teams. Determine and apply advanced assessment techniques and emerging technologies best suited to each client’s unique needs, providing strategic recommendations. Oversee and validate analysis, ensuring recommendations are aligned with client objectives and the broader engagement context. Lead and oversee multiple project teams, ensuring the quality, consistency, and impact of deliverables across large and complex engagements. Manage and develop diverse teams, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to support professional growth and project and overall GBS practice success. Contribute to the evolution of Deloitte’s GBS Strategy offerings by sharing insights, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting practice growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Ten+ years of relevant consulting experience in a professional services environment, with a large or boutique consulting firm, or as an internal consultant within industry Five+ years of direct people management experience, including leading teams on complex projects Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university · Project experience within Shared Services, Outsourcing, and/or Offshoring, or back-office functional optimization · Experience with service delivery model strategy, design, implementation, and optimization for multi-functional or single-function entities Strong financial modeling/analysis and business case development experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI) Familiarity with ServiceNow, Salesforce, or other customer-oriented workflow platforms of the current and emerging applications of Artificial Intelligence in GBS Experience with multiple GBS pillars including, but not limited to, HR, IT, Finance, Procurement, Commercial Operations, Legal Ability to create compelling storyboards and presentations for diverse audiences, including executive stakeholders Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and oral and written communication skills; integrity, initiative, creativity, and passion Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently, influence others, and lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future Ability to travel up to 50%, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Experience with data visualization and analytics Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable Certification in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR) is a plus Experience in Business Process Outsourcing vendor selection Ability to translate technology functionality into process improvements MBA or advanced degree

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $184,500 - $ 322,900. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
