We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Banker to join our Financial Sponsors Coverage team within the Investment Banking division in London. The role offers exposure to leading private equity firms and other financial sponsors, supporting the origination and execution of M&A, leveraged finance, and capital markets transactions across multiple sectors and geographies. 


The successful candidate will work closely with senior bankers and product teams, gaining hands-on experience incomplex transactions and strategic advisory assignments in a fast-paced, international environment.

About the job:

Key Responsibilities

Support senior team members in the origination and execution of M&A, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), refinancings, and capital markets transactions.

Prepare financial analysis, valuation models (DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, LBO models), and scenario analysis.

Assist in the preparation of pitch books, marketing materials, information memoranda, and management presentations.

Conduct industry, company, and market research related to private equity portfolios and investmentstrategies.

Coordinate with internal product partners (M&A, Leveraged Finance, ECM/DCM) and international coverage teams.

Support due diligence processes and transaction execution, including data room analysis and Q&A tracking.

Monitor market trends, sponsor activity, and deal flow within the private equity landscape.

Supervise junior team members (analysts and interns as appropriate) and take ownership of the quality of their work.

Promote a cross-product approach and cooperate effectively with other business lines.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Has strong command of English in an international deal-making environment. Spanish also a nice to have.

Solid understanding of corporate finance, accounting, and valuation principles.

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; financial modeling experience is an advantage.

Demonstrates autonomy in origination, from ideas generation to pitch delivery to client.

Shows potential to become a client interface at senior level.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Preferred Profile

Previous internship or work experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction services, or consulting.

Strong interest in private equity and financial sponsors.

Proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-performance environment.
