Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Glass/Glazing Engineer. The role involves designing and developing glazing systems for a world-class vehicle, balancing both styling and functionality. We seek professionals who demonstrate a can-do attitude and approach their work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have the ability to learn quickly and strive for perfection in a fast-paced environment, while also serving as mentors to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead or play a leading role in the packaging, engineering design, release, and launch of wiper systems for a state-of-the-art vehicle.Create innovative exterior systems with a focus on quality, reliability, functionality, mass, and cost efficiency.Collaborate within a cross-functional studio and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing the overall benefit of the vehicle.Utilize and develop world-class engineering tools and innovative approaches to support systems generation.Mentor junior engineers.

Essential Skills

2+ years for Engineer or 5+ years level of experience in vehicle glazing systems design and development.Experience in design related to glazing, including Windshield, Quarter Glasses, and Backlite.Experience with B-Pillar appliques.Creative engineering and 3D problem-solving skills.Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6.Experience with wipers, washer bottles, thermoplastic and thermoset resin materials, and class A manufacturing technologies.Understanding of a range of computational tools available to design engineers.Launch experience.Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A flair for creative engineering.3D problem-solving abilities.Proven experience with CAD, preferably CATIA V5 or V6.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Southfield, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.
