Gift Planning Officer
Overview Join the Presbyterian Homes Foundation team as a Gift Planning Officer and foster a culture of generosity that advances the PHS mission in the Milwaukee area, beginning with a strong existing donor base and collaborative leadership in six beautiful senior campuses: Dickson Hollow, Avalon Square, Kirkland Crossing, Stair Crest, Fairway Knoll, and Towner Crest. The Gift Planning Officer will office out of Dickson Hollow in Menomonee Falls, WI and travel between the communities in the Milwaukee area. Reporting Structure: The Gift Planning Officer reports to the Vice President of the PHS Foundation and works collaboratively with PHS Management staff, Site Leaders, and functional directors of assigned areas of accountability. Pay Range: The estimated starting pay range for this role is $89,794 - $112,258 per year. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change. Responsibilities The Gift Planning Officer is a development professional responsible for cultivating a culture of generosity by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors for major and planned gifts. This position plays a key role in securing transformational support for Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) by engaging residents, family members, and friends in charitable opportunities that align with their passions and the mission of PHS. Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to: + Collaborate with Foundation colleagues and PHS leaders to advance the mission of PHS through philanthropy. + Identify prospective donors (residents, family members, and friends) with capacity and affinity for the mission. + Develop and implement strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit major and planned gifts. + Manage a portfolio of 100–120 donors and prospects, conducting an average of 20+ face-to-face visits per month. + Prepare and present personalized gift proposals, including planned giving illustrations, to prospective donors. + Negotiate and document gift agreements to ensure alignment with donor intent. Qualifications + B.A./B.S. degree required; CFRE certification or advanced degree preferred. + Demonstrated passion for fund development and the mission-driven work of gift planning. + Minimum of five years of experience working with major and planned gift donors, with a proven track record of cultivating and closing gifts. Experience in senior housing or long-term health care is beneficial. + Strong knowledge of charitable gift vehicles and a comprehensive understanding of IRS regulations related to planned giving. + Proficiency with donor management systems (preferably Donor Perfect) to track and manage donor portfolios, in addition to other common computer programs. + Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful, mission-driven relationships with donors and prospective donors. + Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex giving options clearly and persuasively. + Experience organizing and executing fundraising campaigns, including donor identification and committee collaboration, highly desired. + Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, high professional initiative, and the ability to manage competing priorities. + Collaborative, approachable, and a skilled listener with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization. + Proven leadership ability, with evidence of successfully managing projects or initiatives with limited staff support + Well-organized with demonstrated enthusiasm for advancing the mission and vision of PHS. + Ability to travel within the assigned region frequently. If out of state, ability to travel to the Twin Cities for specified meetings and events on occasion. + Demonstrated compatibility with PHS’ mission and operating philosophies.
