Geotechnical Department Manager The Geotechnical Department Manager oversees a multidisciplinary team delivering projects across industrial, commercial, and residential markets. This role focuses on departmental leadership, operational management, project excellence, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities + Set long‑term goals and support company growth strategies. + Manage budgets, resources, proposals, and project pipelines. + Lead scheduling, staffing, QA/QC, and daily operations. + Coordinate with architects, civil/structural teams, and technical staff. + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. + Mentor staff and foster a positive, high‑performing team culture. + Maintain client communication, oversee contracts, budgets, and change orders. + Identify opportunities for revenue growth and improved efficiency. Qualifications + Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (or related field). + Michigan PE license or eligibility. + 10+ years of progressive civil/geotechnical engineering experience. + Proficient with geotechnical software and Microsoft Office. + Strong leadership, communication, and financial management skills. + Familiarity with Michigan standards and regulations. + Proven success in project delivery, team leadership, and client management. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00/hr.
