Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly specialized Account Manager to join our team and drive sustainable business growth across the Italian and European market, managing and expanding a portfolio of strategic customers within Academic Research, AgBiotech, BioPharma and Diagnostic genomics markets.

This role requires a solid understanding of advanced genomic applications, the ability to engage with senior scientific and procurement stakeholders, and proven experience managing complex sales cycles across multiple service lines, including NGS, Applied Genomics, Sanger Sequencing, Oligos, Gene Synthesis, Microarrays, and Genotyping.

The position offers a hybrid working model (combining home office with time spent at our modern facilities in Milan) and involves frequent travel (approximately 70%) within Italy and to Eurofins Genomics production sites, primarily in Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

Increase sales in all genomic service areas in which we are represented, including Next Generation Sequencing, Applied Genomics Markets, Sanger Sequencing, Oligos, Gene Synthesis, Microarrays and GenotypingAchieve sales targets in the relevant territory Manage and grow strategic customer relationships, acting as a trusted commercial and technical partnerDevelop a structured pipeline by discovering and mapping new projects and opportunities within genomics and applied researchCarry out regular sales reporting and competitive analysis. Intensive use of CRM to track activities, support forecasting and strategic planningLead tender activities, including coordination of technical, commercial, and administrative requirementsImplement and locally adapt the sales strategy in close collaboration with the Country Manager

QualificationsBased in Northern Italy, with strong expertise and proven track record in genomics technologies and advanced life sciences sales within academic research, agro and white biotech, pharma and diagnostics sectorsAdvanced scientific and technical background, Master’s degree or PhD in a scientific disciplineMinimum 5 years of successful experience in life sciences sales, preferably within genomics, NGS, or molecular diagnosticsSolid knowledge of current and emerging genomic technologies, applications, and data analysis conceptsDemonstrated experience in tender management, including local tender processes and platformsStrong understanding of commercial processes, CRM systems, sales forecasting, and market analysisExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with senior scientific and procurement stakeholdersHighly results-driven, strategic thinker with strong attention to detailSelf-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based, high-responsibility roleStrong analytical and numerical skills, combined with solid business acumenFluency in English is essential; knowledge of Spanish is considered a plusHigh level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to operate autonomously without daily supervision
