Generator Field Service Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Generator Field Service Technician to join our team. This role focuses on repairing, servicing, and maintaining stand‑by generator systems, with an emphasis on Cummins and Blue Star Power Systems. You will travel throughout the region to support customers in healthcare, commercial, industrial, and agricultural environments. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are essential.

What You’ll Do

Perform electrical troubleshooting and problem‑solving on AC/DC systemsInstall, troubleshoot, and repair emergency stand‑by generators, automatic transfer switches, and related equipmentUse wiring diagrams and schematics to diagnose and repair electrical issuesTroubleshoot diesel, natural gas, and propane generator systems and provide solutions to customersConduct annual inspections, load banking, lube services, fueling, and cooling system maintenanceTravel outside the local area to support customers across multiple industries

What We’re Looking For

Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshootingExperience with field service, diesel engines, or power generationAbility to complete repairs after proper diagnosisStrong communication and customer service skillsProficiency with computers, email, Word, and PDFExperience using hand tools and power toolsStrong organization and cleanliness in work practices

Education & Experience

Associate degree or equivalent in a related field preferredPrevious experience in diesel, power generation, or related industriesClean driving recordAbility to pass drug and alcohol testingWillingness to travel regularly

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $93000.00/yr.
