**Job Title: General Technician** **Job Description**
The General Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating honing and other machines to perform various machine functions. The role requires adherence to productivity, quality, and cost standards, as well as performing duties assigned by a supervisor or mentor.
**Responsibilities**
+ Calculate and set manual machine controls to position spindle in relation to the work piece.
+ Select and set cutting tools, as well as determine cutting depths, speeds, and feeds required to produce parts per drawing requirements.
+ Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and height gauges proficiently.
+ Understand and execute the deburring process comprehensively.
+ Run jobs in the order set by the scheduler or lead.
+ Ensure parts conform to print, work order standards are met, and maintain daily cleanup.
+ Maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.
+ Count, box, and move work orders, parts, and magnets to the next operation, and update work order location on the computer.
+ Log setup and run information in the daily log book.
+ Actively suggest ideas for process improvements and cost savings.
+ Follow all environmental health and safety policies and procedures, modeling safe work practices.
+ Contribute to and support a positive and respectful workplace environment.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Experience with manual machining, including the use of cutting tools and deburring.
+ Competence in using precise measuring tools such as calipers and ultrasonic thickness gauges.
+ Strong focus and attention to detail.
+ Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
+ Ability to work independently with limited supervision and effectively as part of a team.
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong focus on customer service.
+ Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience performing the essential functions listed above is preferred.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints to deburr/polish parts with abrasives and hand tools.

**Work Environment**
The role is within an aerospace manufacturing and production machine shop. The work environment frequently exposes employees to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level can be moderate to high. Employees are occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Everett, WA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
