**Job Title: General Seed Production** **Job Description** This role involves two main tasks: 'planting' and 'evaluating'. Planting includes counting seeds and preparing them for growth, while evaluating involves assessing the quality of seedlings after a growth period. The position is repetitive but requires attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. **Responsibilities** + Count seeds using a counter template and place them on a wet paper towel, then roll them up into 'dolls'. + Place dolls into a rack for growth in a dryer or freezer environment. + Rotate between planting and evaluating tasks. + Examine and record the condition of seeds using a computer tablet. + Evaluate seedlings and log results, ensuring accuracy in the data recorded. + Sort through 50lb bags of seeds and categorize corn kernels by size for high performers. **Essential Skills** + Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision. + Detail-oriented with strong quality assurance skills. + Basic computer skills for data logging. + Experience in a quality control environment, preferably 1 year. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred. + 1+ year of work experience in a related field. + Experience in general labor, production, or assembly is advantageous. **Work Environment** Work hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with extended hours from August to October. Overtime is available, especially during peak seasons. The work setting is clean, quiet, and similar to a laboratory environment, with stainless steel height-adjustable tables. Employees wear lab coats and must adhere to a dress code that includes closed-toed shoes. Ergonomics and teamwork are emphasized to ensure a comfortable and collaborative work experience. There is potential for weekly bonuses during the peak season. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
