The Wash-Up Technician is a vital member of the printing team, responsible for ensuring that all printing trays and related equipment are meticulously cleaned and maintained. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and quality of the printing process, ensuring that each production run starts with clean and properly functioning equipment.
ResponsibilitiesDisassemble and clean the printing trays, ink trays, rollers, plates, ink fountains, and other related components.Use appropriate cleaning agents and tools to thoroughly clean trays, removing all ink, residue, and debris.Ensure that all cleaned trays meet the company’s quality standards before reassembly.Safely handle and store cleaning agents, solvents, and other chemicals used in the cleaning process.Inspect printing trays and components for signs of wear and tear, damage, or defects.Report any issues or concerns to the maintenance team or supervisor.Lift and move heavy equipment and trays, often weighing up to 50 pounds, and dispose of trash and unused labels into large bins.Stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
