Job Description
As a General Production Worker, you will be responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts. You will receive training on industrial sewing machines in a week-long class before moving to the production floor, where a mentor will guide you through the production process. Your tasks will include setting up sewing machines with the correct thread, increasing production count to expected output levels within 13 weeks, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring products meet quality standards. You will sit for extended periods while operating sewing machines, and if any issues arise, you should seek assistance or contact maintenance.

Work Environment
The company is a contract manufacturing medical device company that has experienced 30% growth over the last year and employs 800 people at its St. Charles location. The production floor predominantly features industrial sewing machines and maintains a clean GMP environment. Hair and beard nets are required, but the facility is not climate-controlled, resulting in hotter conditions during summer months. Fans are available throughout the production area for cooling. The workforce is highly diverse, with over 5-6 languages spoken. Non-fluent English speakers are welcome, though they may face challenges in sewing class. They will have opportunities to succeed if they are self-sufficient with translation technology.
